landscapes form identity

2012 || sonja bäumel

material: buckhorn, wool

Landscapes shape individuals: you can be challenged by a mountain view, or be projected in the depth of a horizon without borders. The individual personality grows together with the landscape and, in such way, different characters develop, being influenced by different surroundings. This necklace aims to reflect on such concept, by implementing deer's antlers as a material, where the individual growth and the resulting structure are also depending on external circumstances. Therefore, the surface of each horn-piece, composing the necklace, comes as a representation of a unique landscape. A chain of interconnected identities
. This various perspectives on landscapes are of great value and become interrelated when people combine, offering different perspectives and favoring progress.
